PROJECT THEME:
The goal of the project 20 after 20 is to present Czech and Slovak architecture through fresh projects instead of archive of already proven architectures. It challenges the authors to design small, easy to realise and eventually functional architecture / design of bird and dog house. We hope that the outcome will show not only actual spectrum of architectural thinking and design methods, but also the designed objects will have its architectural quality. The setting of a dog or bird house is not predefining these qualities, it offers only simple tentative instructions and format of available space. We anticipate that houses designed by selected authors will carry their autography and will reflect individual design approaches used by real architecture. The influence of this methods will automatically carry architectural qualities into the design of the bird/dog houses. Non-traditional setting will allow us to show wider archi- tectural area, behind borders defined by the construction. At the same time it points out the infiltration of architecture which is not their traditional realm.
BIRD AND DOG HOUSE
… as a symbol of house - architectural object, as a caricature of "Big Architecture" and at the same time its complement
… as an actual architecture/design in real form and not just its representation
… as a fresh product reflecting the ways
