Mirove square is the main public space in Dobris, a small town 15 miles south of Prague. Today it is a disconsolate place with heavy load of traffic. The square, as we understand it, is a public, commercial, executive, cultural and spiritual heart of the town. The aim of the proposal is to develop the potential of this public space as a noble minded town living room. The design improves all essential functional elements of the square and puts them in a clearer arrangement.

We have set following design principles:
1. To make the geometry and composition of the square more simple and visible - to support the organic plan.
2. To define the central area of the square as a quiet communal spaceas a pedestrian area.
3. To support local landmarks - to create dignified front spaces assigned to the each significant building.
4. To unify and precisely define entry points to the square, and to integrate peripheral parts of the town, especially adjacent housing estates.
5. To support the "metropolitan" character of the square by clearing of the impropriate shrubs, and to upgrade the quality of the greenery in general.
6. To indicate potential building volumes on vacant plots.
7. To transform the existing town centre dominated by motorized traffic from a traffic ghetto into a sustainable logically organized space of precisely organised traffic routes with preference for public transport and pedestrian movements.
